Last day of school is now June 5
Last day of school for students is now June 5

At their January 22 meeting the District 197 School Board unanimously voted to approve a change to the district calendar. June 5 will now be the last full day of school for all students in order to provide time for teachers and staff to prepare for upcoming construction projects.

Five schools in the district will be under construction starting this spring and throughout the summer, so the half day for students that was planned for June 6, will now be a full day for staff to pack up their classrooms.

The district is announcing this change as early as possible so that families can adjust their schedules and make plans with employers and childcare providers, if needed.

The district's School Age Care (SAC) program will be open all day on June 6 at Mendota Elementary.

This change in the calendar may affect end-of-year events and activities at some buildings. Watch for an announcement from your child's school regarding specific changes, if any.

For parents/guardians of high school seniors and/or preschoolers, no changes have been made to those calendars.
