Canvas / Seesaw
CanvasCanvas is a Learning Management System (LMS) used by teachers across School District 197 in grades 3-12. Through Canvas, teachers can create one online location for students to access course work, online textbooks, submit assignments, view the class calendar, participate in discussions, collaborate with classmates, find ways to explore a class topic further and more. Parents and guardians can even access Canvas to view information about the class (not currently available for all classrooms).

Login to Canvas: Parents/Guardians

Over the coming years, all District 197 teachers 3-12 will transition to the Canvas platform for their LMS. Until the switch, some teachers will continue to use iTunes U, Schoology, Google Classroom, etc.

If your child’s teacher is using Canvas, instructions have been provided below for setting up a Parent Observer account. You will need your child’s school-provided email address and six-digit student ID number to set up an Observer account.

Please contact your child’s school or teacher if you have any questions about Canvas. Parents may also contact Jim Trebisovsky, the district's Digital Learning Coordinator, at 651-403-7023.

Seesaw is a Learning Management System (LMS) used by teachers across School District 197 in grades K-2.
It is a simple way for teachers and students to record and share what's happening in the classroom.

Seesaw gives students a place to document their learning, be creative and learn how to use technology.

Each student gets their own journal and will add things to it, like photos, videos, drawings, or notes.

If your child’s teacher is using Seesaw, they will be able to provide you with information about setting up a parent/guardian account so that you can see your child’s work.
